I am an experienced addiction therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples with alcohol problems. My therapeutic background is Transactional analysis although I do incorporate many other techniques including CBT into my work where appropriate.
I will offer you the opportunity to talk openly in a confidential and secure environment and I will listen carefully, empathetically and without judgment. I will treat you with respect and integrity and will tailor my therapeutic approach to support the changes you wish to make to the way you think, feel and behave and the ways you relate to others.
Counselling for those affected by another’s substance misuse
I am a qualified alcohol counsellor with experience in treating clients with alcohol and drug misuse and a wide variety of the underlying issues that may underpin those addictions including trauma, depression, anxiety and bereavement.

Relationship counselling for those affected by alcohol misuse
Sadly, without help, we can repeat the same arguments over and over again, with each person trying their best to get the other to understand what they are feeling and it seems that whatever they try, the other person just gets defensive and angry. It can be so discouraging.
I aim to help couples improve their communication and conflict resolution skills in a space free of judgment where you can both explore your actions openly and safely. And that generally is enormously helpful in improving relationships.
I am an experienced couples counsellor and have helped many people to improve their relationships. I have experience working with couples and other relationships, including issues such as addictions, affairs, sexual problems, in-law problems, separation, divorce, and remarriage.
Couples attend the sessions together though if your partner is reluctant, you can speak to me on your own to begin with.

Although my normal fee is £50 per session for individuals and £60 for couples, I do have some low cost slots each week at my Lewes practice or via Skype.If you are facing financial difficulties or wanting long term counselling do please call me to discuss.
